The latest news from Jackie Chan is that he will be making The Karate Kid 2 and Rush Hour 4 in the future. Jackie as recently finished work on the upcoming “Chinese Zodiac”, a movie which is part of the Armour Of God series, something i am really looking forward to seeing in December.

Recently speaking at the Cannes festival, Jackie had this to say about his future plans.

”I will ask my body how long I can go. I’m not young anymore. In the future I’ll still do ‘Karate Kid 2′, ‘Rush Hour 4′.”

Jackie as also said on many occasions that he hates violence and that the world at this time, is far to violent for his likings.

”The world is too violent now. I love fighting but I hate violence.

”I want the audience to know I’m not just about fighting, also I can act. And so day by day, year by year, I said, ‘Right, I’m going to show you the real Jackie Chan.’

”I don’t just want to be an action star, I want to be a true actor so for the last 10 years I’ve done other films like ‘The Karate Kid’ where I’d rather play an old man.”

Regarding both movies, i enjoyed his performance in The Karate Kid, he got the chance to show everyone that he can act and is trying very hard to cross over from action movies to straight acting roles. I really enjoyed the first two Rush Hour movies, the third wasn’t that great, so i am hoping the forth movie will bring something a little different. But i do hope in Rush Hour 4, they can get someone like Tony Jaa to play the villain, we need to see a great one on one showdown to finish the series off.

Personally, i would prefer him to make movies like Drunken Master 1945 over any of these two, but one thing i know is that whatever he plans for future projects, i will certainly be supporting and checking them out.

    thanks.

Karate Kid was a good movie, I can’t remember if I cried or NEARLY cried during the movie. Jaden kid is so cute, good actor lad.
So I will be looking forward to it.
But do us a favour and fix the name! Karate Kid yet the kid studies Kung Fu:/

Rush Hour 4….I don’t think it will be good, they lost the steam in Rush Hour 3 and they couldn’t make anything funny or unoriginal. Bret went far off!
Third movies always suck man: Ong Bak 3, Underworld 3, Spiderman 3, Resident Evil 3 etc
So it would be wise to just forget making Rush Hour 4, if they do make it then they would be inclined to make another again:/

and he is right, violence is over the top. I hate gore now, just oversaturated and too much:/

“Karate Kid” was fantastic for Chan and a nice addition for his filmography. It was also the right step for his acting career as well.
I never enjoyed any of the “Rush Hour” films. In my opinion Brett Ratner watered down too much of Chan’s authentic classic style. If there is a “Rush Hour 4″ then fire Ratner and get a director who appreciates Chan’s trademark action-cinema film-making style. Ratner claims he respects Chan’s work, yet has shown audiences that he actually does NOT care about Jackie Chan’s classic style of fight scenes, stunts, and comedy.
