Tom Yum Goong 2 on its way to bash skulls in Thailand & on Facebook:
It’s been a while since we seen Thai international superstar Tony Jaa, best known for his work on the groundbreaking Ong Bak films & 2005′s Tom Yum Goong or The Protector in the west. So why the hold up, as of May 28th 2010 Jaa had left the film industry & was ordained as a Buddhist monk. After his 2011 return, Jaa started production re – teaming up with action director Prachya Pinkaew. This is his third film along side him and fans worldwide are expecting big things from this film.
So why was the first material scrapped for the movie? When it was 40% of the way through production at present? Tony Jaa during production was to get married, which held back production, then there were rumors flying about the material wasn’t good enough, so they wanted to re-shoot the movie again. After Ong Bak 3, we now want to see Jaa back at his fighting best, which im sure we will do.
Also in the movie is female martial arts star Jeeja Yanin, who as been explosive on screen since her big movie debut in Chocolate. She as also made movies such as Raging Phoenix and The Kick, but this movie will surely put her on the map. Jeeja has been labeled the female version of Tony Jaa, with her high impact martial art scenes and stunt work, but also you can tell she is a big fan of Jackie Chan, performing stunts very similar to “Rumble In The Bronx” in the movie Chocolate (Factor fight scene).
The movie itself will be shot in 3D, this is something new to Thailand movies but seems to be the way everyone is going lately. This is why i hope it gets a full international release so we can sit back in the theaters and watch the incredible martial arts and stunts flying towards us.
There is also a petition to get the movie released on a big scale worldwide, we think with both Jaa and Jeeja yanin in the same movie, this could be one hell of a movie. Here is the link:
