College student Shiina (Gaku Hamada from  Fish Story) has just moved into his new flat in Sendai.   Meets his new neighbour Kawasaki (Eita from Hara Kiri: Death of a Samurai)   Excluding both the tremendous physical and psychological differences between both characters, an unexpected friendships grows up out of a mutual interest in Bob Dylan.

The rigid and predictable Shiina is dragged by the magnetism of Kawasaki’s  looney world of anarchy and creativity.   Kawasaki’s crazy ideas, like his paranoia about pet shop owner Reiko  (Nene Otsuka from I Wish) or his even wildest plan to steal a dictionary for their Bhutanese neighbour.    Shiina will be finding himself on the beginning of a bizarre, existential trip…

About the director:

Yoshihiro Nakamura was born on the 25th of August 1970 in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Went to Seijo University Department of Arts and Literature. While doing his studies he joined the Film Research Club, where he started making films.   In 1993 won the PIA  Film Festival Grand Prix with “Summer Rain Kitchen”    Having completed his studies he worked as an assistant director on films with Yoichi Sai, Hideyuki Hirayama and Jūzō Itami. 1999 marks his debut as an independant director with “Local News” .    In 2004 along with scriptwriter Ken’Ichi Suzuki and editor Tooru Hosokawa he formed the conte unit “Assembly of Little Pigeons”  In 2007 he is selected as the most promising new director  and given the Kaneto Shindo Prize by the Japan’s Film Maker’s Association.  In 2010 he worked as a narrator on the “It’s True! Cursed Films” series.
