Background
He studied Wing Chun under the martial arts master Chu Wan. In 1969, Ti was found by the and cast in Return of the One-Armed Swordsman opposite Jimmy Wang Yu, a role which would launch his career as one of the best known faces in classic Wuxia film. He became a common face associated with David Chiang, Alexander Fu Sheng, Ku Feng, Gordon Liu, the Venom Mob, and other Shaw Bros. stars at the time, often cast as a dashing, noble hero as well as a capable martial artist.

The studio saw potential in the earnest young man and trained him in the arts of swordplay, acting and horseback riding.

The investment paid off, as Lung's relationship with Shaw Bros. remained fruitful for many years to come. Lung went on to become one of Shaw Bros. top Kung Fu stars alongside frequent co-star David Chiang in many of Chang Cheh's epic films, including Blood Brothers and Five Masters of Death. After the demise of Shaw Studios, Ti Lung made a few films in Tawain and then returned to Hong Kong in the eighties with John Woo's A Better Tomorrow.

Ti Lung made a big appearance in the 1994 hit movie “Drunken Master 2”, playing the father of and doing a great job. Both actors worked very well together and you could see that on the screen.

Ti Lung has a reputation for being very serious and is one of the most respected actors working in Hong Kong today. Ti has been married to wife To Man-Ming for many years, and has a son named Shaun Tam Jun-Yin.

In the past 10 years or so, Ti as only appeared in about 10 movies or so, he had a good role in the 2008 movie “Three Kingdoms” along side Sammo Hung. Others include Run, papa Run, My Wife Is A Gangster 3, Butterfly Lovers and Frozen.
