The Monk is an upcoming 3D Martial Arts movie, which will feature a great cast such as Aaron Kwok, jaycee Chan, Wang Baoqiang, Fan Wei, Wang Xueqi and many more. It also been likened to the old Shaw Brothers classic The Water Margin, so expect a great film.
The Monk tells the story about a very skilled monk who is forced to leave his monastery and fight for himself in the outside world. Aaron Kwok recently filmed a fight scene where he takes on 10 guys in the snow, that scene alone is enough to make me want to watch the whole movie. It is based on the novel by Xu Haofeng's, titled A Monk Comes Down the Mountain.
Aarom Kwok has made some great movies in the past, such as The Barefoot Kid, Saviour Of The Soul, 2000 AD, Cold War and the recently release blockbuster The Monkey King.
Sony Pictures will be handling the International release of the movie and the film is co-produced by Columbia Pictures and a few Chinese based companies.
