Tiger & Bunny still

Rising star screenwriter Ellen Shanman takes on the role for English-language live action adaptation of TIGER & BUNNY.

Imagine Entertainment, All Nippon Entertainment Works (ANEW), and BANDAI NAMCO Pictures are going to be co-producing the same-name feature film based on the smash hit anime series.

Ellen Shanman, author of two novels ‘Right Before Your Eyes’ and ‘Everything Nice’, also excels in other fictional and non-fictional novel-to-film adaptations – ‘Falling Out of Fashion’, ‘Nothing Daunted’ and most recently a YA superhero bestseller ‘The Brokenhearted’.

“Ellen’s strong, visionary, creative voice is a perfect match to adapt this wildly popular story for new audiences,” stated the producer of Tiger & Bunny Ron Howard.

The story takes place in a near-futuristic city, “Stern Bild”, where professional superheroes are known as “NEXT”. Old school veteran, Kotetsu T. Kaburagi “Wild Tiger” is forced to collaborate with the fearless but arrogant novice Barnaby Brooks Jr. “BUNNY”. Watch how the two polar opposites learn to work as a team to protect the city and save each other.

Tiger & Bunny, created by legendary manga artist Masakazu Katsura, was first aired in Japan in 2011. After the last episode, two animated feature films quickly followed its high popularity. Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning in 2012, and Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, in 2014 were proven to be huge box office success and up till now, they are still in the top 20 highest grossing Japanese anime adapted films since 2012.
