After taking a 6-year break from the silver screen, 29-year-old actor Jang Geun Suk is back with a huge bang. Not only is the TV-movie actor working with world renowned director Kim Ki Duk (“Fork Lane”, “3-Iron”), he is also joining a powerhouse cast including veteran actors Ahn Sung Ki and Ryu Seung Bum. Japanese actors Joe Odagiri and Fuji Mina, who are both no stranger to the Korean entertainment industry, are also appearing in Kim’s much-anticipated film.

The Cast of “The Time of Humans” with Director Kim Ki Duk

A Different Jang Geun Suk

Like Kim Soo Hyun in “REAL“, the movie “The Time of Humans” will turn Jang Geun Suk from the swoon-worthy “Prince of Rom-Com” to a ruthless, violent, and cold-hearted character. While it is no secret that the talented actor has portrayed a wide array of characters over the past years, his radical transformation in this film will be equal parts appalling and thrilling for the viewers.

When asked what attracted him to this project, his reply was, “It’s been a long time since I’ve appeared in a movie, and it’s an honor to work with director Kim Ki Duk. I decided on this film because I thought it would be interesting to portray a character that just acts on impulse.”

Powerful and Controversial

Kim Ki Duk’s latest masterpiece will take its viewers on an extraordinary voyage which aims to trace the root of mankind. In the film, a battle ship converted into a cruise ship journeys into an unforeseen new world, challenging the boundaries of the emotions, ethics, and morality of the people aboard it.

The award-winning director was quoted saying, “I expect the movie will be controversial both in and outside of Korea.”
