After media reports of several actors being approached for the next film by Kim Sung-hoon (Confidential Assignment), the multi-star cast has finally been confirmed. The film, variously reported to be tentatively titled as ‘Outbreak’ and ‘Rampant’, will have Hyun Bin, Jang Dong-gun, Jo Woo-jin, Kim Ee-seong, Jo Dal-hwan and Kim Joo-hyuk in key roles.
Set in the Kingdom of Joseon, the film will feature Hyun Bin in the role of Lee Chung, a womanizing prince who returns to Joseon after being held captive by the Qing Dynasty for many years. After return, he struggles to save his home from mysterious zombie-like creatures that come out at night. Jang plays Kim Ja-joon, an influential member of the nobility with aspirations to the Joseon throne. The conflict between Lee Chung and Kim Ja-joon, supported by other characters with their different motives, forms the crux of the film. The appearance of these nocturnal creatures adds to the tension.
