4. Blade of the Immortal

For Takeshi Miike’s 100th film he’s pulling out all the stops (and the blood ! ). This is quiet possiblity our most anticipated film this year.

The filmmaker has never been known to shy away from bloodshed and gore, with cases in point being classics like AuditionIchi the Killer and Sukiyaki Western Django. The very stylish and madcap trailer set to riveting hip-hop music shows that fans are in for another treat.

3. Color of the Game

Wong Jing back directing gangster films and he once again commands an impressive cast. Simon Yam, Philip Ng and Jordan Chan star  in this action thriller which is the third and final part of the Color series after Color of the Truth (2003) and Color of Loyalty (2005)

Kim Rae-won plays Seo Jin-hong, a cold-hearted prosecutor who lost his mother (Kim Hae-sook) during a robbery 7 years ago. He has been bent on tracking down the culprit responsible for her death. Now, a series of surreal cases around the world, termed the Resurrected Victims Phenomenon, is seeing victims of unsolved murders returning to life to punish their killers.

Cho Jin-woong (The HandmaidenAssassination) stars in the role of the eponymous Korean independence fighter Kim Chang-Soo.


Young Kim Chang-Soo is placed behind bars, charged with murdering a Japanese person who took part in Empress Myeongseong’s assassination. In prison, Kim Chang-Soo sees how Koreans are persecuted and grows into a fighter for Korean independence.
