Watch: Kim Rae-won In Supernatural Thriller ‘RV: Resurrected Victims’

After playing a tough character with negative shades to critical acclaim in the surprise hit The Prison, is back with another with a very interesting premise. The first trailer for , directed by Kwak Kyung-taek (FriendEye for an Eye), has just come out. And the rain-soaked glimpse promises a fast-paced, nail-biting thriller for sure.

2017 looks like it'll be a career-defining year for Kim Rae-won. The Prison saw him play a role very different from his usual image and spar with the much more experienced Han Suk-kyu. In another test of his acting mettle, this gritty new film will see him go toe-to-toe with the veteran actress Kim Hae-sook (The HandmaidenThe Throne).

Kim Rae-won plays Seo Jin-hong, a cold-hearted prosecutor who lost his mother (Kim Hae-sook) during a robbery 7 years ago. He has been bent on tracking down the culprit responsible for her death. Now, a series of surreal cases around the world, termed the Resurrected Victims Phenomenon, is seeing victims of unsolved murders returning to life to punish their killers. Seo Jin-hong's mother comes to life too but, to everyone's shock, she is set on killing her son. Is this proof enough for the investigators to conclude that the prosecutor was the person responsible for his own mother's death? Is there more to this strange phenomenon than people have figured out?

RV: Resurrected Victims is based on a 2012 novel called It Is Over by Korean author Park Ha-ik. In important supporting roles will be seen actors like , , and . The film, scheduled for release in October 2017 in South Korea, is produced by and , and distributed by .
