Osaka Asian Film Festival Announces 2019 Dates. Call for Entries

We are pleased to announce that the 2019 will be held from March 8 to 17, 2019. In addition to the main Competition, our regular Special Screenings and Indie Forum sections, as well as some special programs, will feature a wide variety of excellent Asian films. The Competition section and other sections are accepting film submissions until December 3, 2018.

The selected films will be screened at the Osaka Asian Film Festival 2019.

The international jury will choose the Grand Prix (the Best Picture Award, with a cash prize of JPY500,000) and Most Promising Talent Award (with a cash prize of JPY200,000) from the selected films for the Competition. The Audience Award for a Japan Premiere film and various sponsor awards will also be bestowed.

On paper I am an Italian living in London, in reality I was born and bread in a popcorn bucket. I've loved cinema since I was a little child and I’ve always had a passion and interest for Asian (especially Japanese) pop culture, food and traditions, but on the cinema side, my big, first love is Hong Kong Cinema. I like action, heroic bloodshed, wu-xia, Shaw Bros (even if it’s not my specialty), Anime, and also more auteur-ish movies. Anything that is good, really, but I am allergic to rom-com (unless it’s a HK rom-com, possibly featuring Andy Lau in his 20s)"
