Trailer for new Chinese Sci-Fi film “The Wandering Earth”

Director (“Lee's Adventure”, “My Old Classmate”) has completed production on his most recent film “”. The apocalyptic Sci-fi thriller is based off of the popular Novella, of the same name, by the Hugo Award winning author Liu Cixin.

The film was released in a limited theatrical run on February 5, 2019 across the China and the US. The film has since been picked up by Netflix and is pending a release date through the service. A for the film has been released and can be viewed below.

Synopsis

The sun is dying out. The earth will soon be engulfed by the inflating sun. To save the human civilization, scientists draw up an escape plan that will bring the whole human race from danger. With the help of thousands of infusion powered engines, the planet earth will leave the solar system and embark on a 2,500 year journey to the orbit of a star 4.5 light years away. (imdb)
