Trailer: Peninsula by Yeon Sang-ho

Four years after South Korea's total decimation in “Train To Busan”, director Yeon Sng-ho continues his zombie saga with “”, the next nail-biting chapter in his post-apocalyptic world. This highly anticipated film has released its first trailer today and as expected, it promised a lot of action and nail-biting moments.

Synopsis

Jung-seok, a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.

Though none of the actors from “Train to Busan” return, “Peninsula” is nonetheless filled with stars as well. (“Secret Reunion”) takes the lead role of Jung-seok. He is joined by Lee Jung-hyun (“The Running Actress”), (“Hotel by the River”), (“Money”) and young actress (“Hope”). A worldwide Summer, 2020 release is expected, with handling the North American distribution.

Rhythm Zaveri

Hello, my name is Rhythm Zaveri. For as long as I can remember, I've been watching movies, but my introduction to Asian cinema was old rental VHS copies of Bruce Lee films and some Shaw Bros. martial arts extravaganzas. But my interest in the cinema of the region really deepened when I was at university and got access to a massive range of VHS and DVDs of classic Japanese and Chinese titles in the library, and there has been no turning back since.

An avid collector of physical media, I would say Korean cinema really is my first choice, but I'll watch anything that is south-east Asian. I started contributing to Asian Movie Pulse in 2018 to share my love for Asian cinema in the form of my writings.
