Director Lee Yong-ju makes his long-awaited return to the big screen, eight years after “Architecture 101”, with “SEOBOK“, starring heartthrobs Gong Yoo and Park Bo-gum.
Synopsis
Ki-hun is an ex-agent of the intelligence agency. SEOBOK is the first human clone ever and he possesses the secret for eternal life. Ki-hun gets involved in dangerous situations due to several forces who want to take possession of Seobok.
It is to Lee Yong-ju’s credit that all three of his directorial so far have been of varying genres: his debut “Possessed” is a classic Korean horror film, “Architecture 101” remains one of the finest Korean romances while “SEOBOK” is a sci-fi action thriller. Gong Yoo, who returned to the big screen last year with “Kim Ji-young: Born 1982”, takes on the role of Ki-hun, while Park Bo-gum will play the titular SEOBOK. They are joined by Jo Woo-jin in his third release of the year and Jang Young-nam (“Metamorphosis”). “SEOBOK” is scheduled for a December, 2020 release.
