Koji Fukada, Japanese director in his forties, has reinvigorated the cinema of the Rising Sun over the past twenty years. Through hard work, he has become the emerging Japanese filmmaker of the twenty-first century.
The 28th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinemas has carried out a search for all copies of the films of this talented director in order to present all of his work. Screening the complete films of a filmmaker allows you to put your work into perspective and take full measure of its originality. Presenting all of his 10 feature films, including the mythical “La Chaise”, his very first film, along with his 4 short films, is a world first.
To mark the event, he will be awarded a Cyclo d’or d’honneur for all of his work during the opening ceremony on February 1, 2022 at the Théâtre Edwige Feuillère.
