‘CASTLEMONT’ Teaser Trailer Announcement

A late '90s period drama exploring pain, loss, divorce, grief, and the cinematic arts shown through the perspective of Ephraim, a 10-year-old Filipino boy set during May 1999 in San Jose, California.

The project is helmed by Filipino storyteller,  with an original screenplay penned by Schoonmaker. Produced by Phillip Michael Ramos and Schoonmaker underneath their Cold Moon Productions banner. The film features Steve Wilcox (DC's Swamp Thing), Jamie Pasquinelli (The Black Phone), and introduces Isaac Smelcer-Zhang. The film features original music composed by Matt Cunningham (3 Demons, The Spore). The film is due out to release in late 2023.

Statement from Schoonmaker: “The film's an ode to cinema and my influences – Steven Spielberg, 1930s/1990s horror movies, Stephen Sommers (director of The Mummy (1999)), and it also explores a deep look into the cinematic arts, ambition, pain, divorce and grief. Film actor, Ethan Hawke (Sinister) inspired the story and the creation of the father role in the film. The father portrayed by Wilcox is an amalgamation of my own father and Hawke.”
