“Prix Luciole” — a young competition dedicated to recognizing excellence in film poster design—is born! Jointly initiated by China’s largest movie ticketing platform Taopiaopiao and Alliance Cinéaste Chine-Europe, it focuses on works that demonstrate outstanding design concepts, strong emotional resonance, and visual impact. It enhances the audience’s awareness of excellent designers and provides a platform for filmmakers to showcase their aesthetic concept, stimulating broader attention and better discussion.
A film poster serves as the first visual window through which a film meets its audience, profoundly influencing people’s initial impressions and interest in a film.
The “Prix Luciole” goes beyond recognizing craftsmanship in poster design; it delves into the depths of the details behind filmmaking. It provides an alternative approach for audiences to encounter films and offers filmmakers a stage to showcase their works from various perspectives. The “Prix Luciole” not only offers prizes and awards to winners but also brings press together to provide the best word-of-mouth publicity for creators and support for their films.

- About the Creative Concept of the Visual Poster of“Prix Luciole”:
“We chose a small firefly. Its light may be slight, yet it always ignites a desire for more brightness. It’s magical, dreamlike. When they gather together, they make us dream, longing to touch the mystery behind that glow, just like the atmosphere or detail expressed in a movie poster, leading us into the film it represents and the story behind it.”
In the pilot poster of the “Prix Luciole”, the main visual of the firefly is projected onto a beach where the Cinéma de la Plage take place, and the specially designed tail of the logo interacts, conveying three visual concepts: spotlight—focusing on films and design; waves and beaches—the location of the inaugural “Prix Luciole”: Cannes; film screening—everything related to cinema, ultimately reaching the relationship between the audience and the screen.
These three visual concepts together constitute the inaugural“Prix Luciole” Award poster, with a blank screen on the big screen, representing the remaining space for all nominated posters and films. The tiny firefly, facing the direction of the screen, spreads its wings, leading us into the colorful world of cinema.

For each category, Taopiaopiao Audiences will vote to select one “Audience’s Choice Award”, and earn a Prize of 100 € (pre-tax) and a certificate of honor for this category.
