FDCP announces I Animate Lineup

I Animate: Animation Film Festival starting April 24 to May 7 in its regional Cinematheque Centres and select SM cinemas 

The Film Development Council of the Philippines ( ) will hold I Animate: Animation Film Festival starting April 24 to May 7 in its regional Cinematheque Centres and select SM cinemas

Revealed last April 15, 2025, the lineup is top billed by renowned world cinema titles led by Cinemalaya 2023 Best Film “ (The Missing)”, the Oscar 2025 Best Animated Feature Film “,”and BFI London Film Festival Best Film “Memoir of a Snail.”

Other acclaimed full-length films to be screened are  “”by ,  “Saving Sally” by Avid Liongoren, “” by , “” by Yôko Kuno and Nobuhiro Yamashita, “Loving Vincent” by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, “Le Petit Nicolas” by Amandine Fredon and Benjamin Massoubre,”Robot Dreams” by Pablo Berger, and “” by .

The festival also includes under the following three sections: Animated Short Focus, From the Archives, and Student Shorts Showcase.  

Animated Short Focus, From the Archives, and Student Shorts Showcase program

“Hito”, which had its world premiere in Berlinale 2023, and “Maski Papano” are two of the movies under the Animated Short Focus.  From the Archives features three films by  , a key figure in  Philippine alternative cinema.

The screenings venues are SM Cinema Megamall, SM Cinema Mall Of Asia, SM Cinema North Edsa, SM Cinema Manila, Cinematheque Centre Iloilo, Cinematheque Centre Davao, Cinematheque Centre Negros, and Cinematheque Centre Nabunturan. Check out the Facebook pages of FDCP and SM cinemas for the screening schedule.

I Animate aims to celebrate the commendable talent of people who are instrumental in telling meaningful stories through animation.

FDCP co-organized this event with SM Cinemas, its Cinematheque Centres, Mowelfund Film Institute, Rocketsheep Studio, Dambuhala Productions, Solar Pictures, Pioneer, Elle Driver, Charades, and Project 8 Projects.
