Following in his best mate Jung Woo-sung's footsteps, superstar Lee Jung-jae is all set to turn director with upcoming project “Hunt”. Lee is also confirmed to star in the action film, which deals with two ace National Security agents chasing down a spy ring. His character is named Park Pyeong-ho, with the other named Kim Jeong-do, both creations of his own script. Lee Jung-jae is said to have been working on the script for over four years.
Jung Woo-sung's agency has confirmed that the actor is also considering the part of Park Pyeong-ho. If he signs on, this will be the first time the two friends will share screen space in 21 years, having last worked together in the 1999 film “City of the Rising Sun”.
Jung Woo-sung has previously directed a few short films but he is also set to make his feature film debut as a director with the currently-in-production “The Protector”. If all the pieces fall into place, “Hunt” is expected to go into production in 2021.
Before the two potentially pair up though, they are expected to go head-to-head at the box office, with Lee Jung-jae's “Deliver Us from Evil” and Jung Woo-sung's “Steel Rain 2: Summit” scheduled to be released a week from each other in South Korea.
