Debutante Actress Cynthia Chosen to Lead “The Witch” Sequel

News breaking out of South Korea confirm that fresh-faced actress , who has no prior acting credits to her name, has been chosen from 1408 auditionees to play the lead protagonist in 's sequel to the 2018 mystery thriller.

Actress , who played the lead in the 2018 film, will also appear as Ja-yoon, as will , who played Dr. Baek, but the extent of their roles is currently not known.

Other confirmed casting news include and , who joins up with director Park once again after playing the antagonist in his film “V.I.P.” and will apparently have an extended cameo role.

Interestingly, Kim Da-mi was also chosen to debut in the original film after a lengthy process. Both she and Cynthia are tied to the same agency, ANDMARQ, who have confirmed the casting news. Cynthia so far only has one advertisement credit to her name and can be seen in these screenshots from the advert.

Production on the sequel is finally set to begin on December 26th, 2020.
