POSTPONEMENT of the 27th Vesoul International Festival of Asian Cinemas in February 2022

The pandemic is not abating around the world. So many uncertainties remain: opening of places of culture, restaurants, curfews, …

First, we had to face the evidence of the impossibility of maintaining in person, the 27th edition of the Vesoul International Festival of Asian Cinemas, which was scheduled from January 26 to February 2, 2021.

Secondly, with our technical team, we tried to save the fiction and documentary competitions sections by keeping them online.

Faced with the categorical refusal of certain producers fearing the piracy of competitive films presented in world, international, European or French premieres, we also had to give up this alternative.

Thirdly, it is with infinite sadness that we had to make the decision to postpone the 27th FICA in Vesoul to February 2022.

This decision weighs heavily on us.

We were ready (final selection of all the films, the various juries constituted, catalog drawn up, …).

It is death in the soul that we write these lines.

We wholeheartedly thank the institutional and private partners, as well as the public, for their loyal support to the Vesoul International Festival of Asian Cinemas and look forward to seeing them in February 2022.

Life is a fight. Hope!
