CALL FOR ENTRIES: Viddsee’s Fourth Juree Awards Singapore Now Open With New Award Category Added

The fourth Viddsee Juree Awards (Singapore Edition) is now open until midnight, Jul 12. Juree Awards Singapore welcomes all genres of short films including documentary, animation, thriller or hybrid. Filmmakers, storytellers and content producers are invited to submit their short films completed after Jan 1, 2020.

This year's Juree Awards includes a new category, the , created in partnership with the Government Technology Agency (GovTech). The award hopes to uncover inspiring stories of how everyday technology plays a role in shaping and influencing Singaporeans in their key life moments from graduation to adulthood, receiving their first job offer or paycheck, experiencing parenthood, reaching retirement and beyond.

Award Prizes

Participants stand a chance to win prizes worth more than SGD$28,000 in cash and merchandise

through the following categories:

● Gold Award (1 winner)

● Silver Award (1 winner)

● LifeSG Awards (5 winners)

● Audience Choice Award (1 winner)

● Audience Choice (1 winner)

This year's Gold and Silver Award winners will be selected by an international judge panel comprising Samuel Jamier, Executive Director of the New York Asian Film Festival; award-winning Singaporean filmmaker Wee Li Lin; and Takashi Homma, managing director of Sapporo International Short Film Festival & Market. The five LifeSG Award winners will be selected by a panel including Singaporean filmmaker and producer, Kenny Tan from Viddsee Studios and two representatives from GovTech.

The public can watch shortlisted films and participate in the Awards by casting their vote for their favourite films for the Audience Choice Awards. The winner will then be decided based on the film that receives the most number of votes during the audience voting period. More details will be released at a later date.

Previous winners of the Viddsee Juree Awards Singapore Edition include Ler Jiyuan, whose winning film ‘The Drum' became an inspiration for his HBO series ‘Invisible Stories'; Eva Tang, who was previously selected in Berlinale Talents, Taipei Golden Horse Film Academy and TorinoFilmLab; and Clarisse Chua, whose animated short ‘The Kitchlets' won the Gold at last year's third Juree Awards (Singapore Edition).
