It would be safe to say that Lee Sung-min has, by now, managed to establish himself has a dependable leading man. The actor, after years of excellent supporting roles, has consistently been impressing with hims choices and performances in projects with him as a leading role. However, one genre that he was yet to tackle was horror. That changes with debutant director Kim Tae-hyung's film “The 8th Night”, which is coming soon to Netflix.
Synopsis
2500 years ago, there were 2 mysterious beings that tormented humans. These beings were locked up in 2 caskets by a formidable power, and in order for them to assume their form, they must infiltrate 7 vulnerable human hosts.
Centuries later, Monk Ha-joong, the protector of one of the caskets, realizes that one of the beings has reawaken and orders his fellow monk Cheong-seok to seek Jin-soo, who was born to stop these beings. Knowing fully well what this being is capable of, Jin-soo begins the hunt to find the being with Cheong-seok in order to stop it once and for all.
Joining Lee Sung-min are Park Hae-joon (“Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage”), who plays a detective on a bizarre murder case and Kim Yoo-jung (“The Chaser“), who plays a young girl with a mysterious energy. The film will stream worldwide on Netflix from July 2nd, 2021.
