Karin is a rebellious 17 year old who is somewhat of a social misfit. One day she experiences an indescribable feeling and is inspired when she gives up her seat on the train to a sick person. Karin, with help from her best friend Fuko, decides to stage events to encourage people to perform good deeds hoping this would eventually change the world. They secretly record the fake events and their post goes viral. But they soon discover that life is not so simple.
Pretenders is a movie depicting the struggles of two high school girls trying to live life on their own terms. Two people who oppose a society dominated by the peer pressure of “reading the air” use SNS to confront this stifling society. The director and screenwriter is KUMASAKA Izuru of “Asyl: Park and Love Hotel” and the “Jinro Game” series. The cast includes ONO Karin from “Climb Miss Kotera” and MIKAMI Ai from the drama “Kirei no Kuni”.
