After settling down at a sheep ranch in Hwacheon five years ago, Jin-woo has been raising his niece Seol like his own daughter with his same-sex partner Hyun-min. One day, Jin-woo's twin sister Eun-young who is the birth mother of Seol turns up at their doorstep and insists on taking Seol with her. As Jin-woo hesitates to send Seol to Eun-young, Eun-young out of anger, discloses his relationship with Hyun-min in front of Jin-woo's neighbours.

A car accident happened. One died and the other was in a coma. The case was concluded as the dead one's fault. Being guilt-ridden, the dead man's wife, Hee-ju struggles to move forward. One day, she learns that the victim tried to kill himself before the accident. Suspecting that the accident might have been caused by the victim on purpose, she starts to reinvestigate the case all over again.

Full of regrets, Jun-hyeok visits her SNS, and finds one weird message: “What is the significance of your life?” He soon realizes that it is not only Min-ji but dozens of people are dead after receiving the message…

Police Chief Yeon-su is dispatched to an island with her daughter after her divorce. On the night of her welcoming party, Yeon-su witnesses the strange relationship between orphan girl Yae-eun and the island workers. Yae-eun has been cared for by the villagers after she lost her parents at sea when she was young. Yeon-su suspects her of prostitution. When Yeon-su starts to investigate the case, the village foreman tries to send Yae-eun out of the island to settle the issue rapidly. However, Yae-eun who is afraid of the sea because of her past trauma, desperately runs away and hides in the mountain.
