The story is set in 2061, with Japan under a state of occupation by multiple states. The world, including Japan, has been consolidated under the rule of four trade federations. The entire archipelago is now the frontline of conflict. The Japanese people live in oppression, with humanoid war machines called AMAIM patrolling its streets. Shiiba Amou is an “antisocial” kid who loves machines. After meeting an autonomous A.I. named I-LeS Gai, Amou dives into a battle to take back Japan using his custom-built mecha.
AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline marks the first original project from Sunrise Beyond, renowned for its work on the iconic Gundam franchise, and is directed by HABARA Nobuyoshi (Leina: Wolf Sword Legend).
Funimation will stream this all-new mecha anime as the series airs in Japan beginning on October 5, 2021.
