The General Assembly of the was held at the Maison du FICA, 1, rue Paul Petitclerc in Vesoul, October 28, 2021 in the presence of Mr. Alexandre Garniron, Deputy Mayor of Vesoul in charge of culture and Mr. Gilles Lazar, President of the culture commission of the Regional Council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

The 28th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinemas will take place from February 1 to 8, 2022

The festival is in mourning: Marc Haaz , its technical director, was killed in a plane crash on July 30, 2021, at the age of 33. He was one of the pillars of the festival. The whole team got together to divide up the multiple tasks which he always accomplished naturally, with a smile.

Marc Haaz was not only the technical director of FICA, he was also an actor, director, producer, distributor. He was destined for a brilliant career in the world of cinema. It was a solar being struck down, in full professional rise, by fate.

Tribute will be paid to him during the opening ceremony on February 1st 2022.

It was decided to create a Marc Haaz Jury, made up of young directors, awarding a Marc Haaz prize, to a young director.

Panos Kotzathanasis

My name is Panos Kotzathanasis and I am Greek. Being a fan of Asian cinema and especially of Chinese kung fu and Japanese samurai movies since I was a little kid, I cultivated that love during my adolescence, to extend to the whole of SE Asia.

Starting from my own blog in Greek, I then moved on to write for some of the major publications in Greece, and in a number of websites dealing with (Asian) cinema, such as Taste of Cinema, Hancinema, EasternKicks, Chinese Policy Institute, and of course, Asian Movie Pulse. in which I still continue to contribute.

In the beginning of 2017, I launched my own website, Asian Film Vault, which I merged in 2018 with Asian Movie Pulse, creating the most complete website about the Asian movie industry, as it deals with almost every country from East and South Asia, and definitely all genres.
