New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) 20th Anniversary Edition Extended to July 31!

The New York Asian Film Foundation is excited to announce that in collaboration with Asia Society the 20th anniversary edition will be extended from July 28 to July 31!

After the July 15 – 28 run at Film at Lincoln Center, will continue to screen the best and boldest of Asian cinema at Asia Society (725 Park Ave, New York) from July 28 – 31.

Despite the festival's humble beginnings in 2002 with just eleven films and nary a clue of how these events worked, NYAFF burst onto the scene like a rambunctious, attention-hungry feral child. Over the years the festival has proven its mettle as a premier showcase of Asian cinema.

With incredible trailblazing achievements under its belt, including bringing major guests to New York (Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan, just to name a couple) NYAFF gradually came into its own, consistently surprising the audience and earning a dedicated following. The festival is now a mature, sophisticated adult, but still has that outside-the-box wild streak that makes it so exciting. Mark your calendars now to celebrate this major cinematic anniversary in July.

About the author

Adriana Rosati

On paper I am an Italian living in London, in reality I was born and bread in a popcorn bucket. I've loved cinema since I was a little child and I’ve always had a passion and interest for Asian (especially Japanese) pop culture, food and traditions, but on the cinema side, my big, first love is Hong Kong Cinema. Then - by a sort of osmosis - I have expanded my love and appreciation to the cinematography of other Asian countries. I like action, heroic bloodshed, wu-xia, Shaw Bros (even if it’s not my specialty), Anime, and also more auteur-ish movies. Anything that is good, really, but I am allergic to rom-com (unless it’s a HK rom-com, possibly featuring Andy Lau in his 20s)"
