Producer’s Lab Jakarta Film Week 2022 Information Announced

Sharpen Your Producer Skills by Joining the Producer's Lab, the Newest Program of Jakarta

Jakarta, 6 September 2022 – In its second year of implementation, the Jakarta Film Festival, a festival initiated by the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office, presents a new program called the Producer's Lab. This program exists to facilitate emerging young producers who are ready to compete locally and internationally.

Held in collaboration with the Indonesian Directorate General of Film, Music, and Media Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, the Producer's Lab is expected to be a forum for exploring the capabilities of young producers, from production management, and film funding, to distribution locally and internationally. Bearing in mind the industry and production needs are getting higher and more competitive along with the increasing number of exciting stories and skilled talents.

“Film production is inseparable from the great role of a producer whose presence is sometimes forgotten. With the new Producer's Lab program at 2022, it is hoped that the film industry in Indonesia will grow strongly with the presence of new producers who are ready to compete on the international stage,” said Rina Damayanti as Festival Director of Jakarta Film Week 2022.

Accompanied by mentor producers with experience in various international productions and co-productions, participants are expected to mature in preparing for their feature-length film projects. It is anticipated that the resulting films will have high competitiveness in various funding forums and can proceed with directors or other production teams.

Those eligible to register for the Producer's Lab are Indonesian national producers, who have made at least 2 short films, are preparing a fiction feature film, and can participate in all activities offline. Prospective participants who meet the requirements can register from Friday, 29 August to 15 September 2022, through the Jakarta Film Week website.
