Music Video: V by Lee Jung-hyun, Directed by Park Chan-wook

It's not often you get to see directing anything other than feature films, but it is not something that never happens. He has made a few short films, most prominently his segment in “Three… Extremes” and even last year's “Life is But A Dream”, effectively an advertisement of the prowess of Apple's iPhone 13 Pro. That was the second time that Park directed a short for Apple, since he also did one in 2011 called “Night Fishing”, shot entirely on the iPhone 4 and starring actress/singer , under the pseudonym PARKing CHANce.

What, however, is very uncommon is the director making a music video. The prolific genre director has dabbled in the format only once, way back in 2013, when he directed, once again as PARKing CHANce, the music video for “Night Fishing” actress Lee Jung-hyun's track “V”, starring Lee herself alongside .

Rhythm Zaveri

Hello, my name is Rhythm Zaveri. For as long as I can remember, I've been watching movies, but my introduction to Asian cinema was old rental VHS copies of Bruce Lee films and some Shaw Bros. martial arts extravaganzas. But my interest in the cinema of the region really deepened when I was at university and got access to a massive range of VHS and DVDs of classic Japanese and Chinese titles in the library, and there has been no turning back since.

An avid collector of physical media, I would say Korean cinema really is my first choice, but I'll watch anything that is south-east Asian. I started contributing to Asian Movie Pulse in 2018 to share my love for Asian cinema in the form of my writings.
