CAAMFest announces dates May 9-19, 2024

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, February 26, 2024 — The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) announces that 2024 will take place May 9-19, 2024 during San Francisco's 20th Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The completely in-person program will feature a wide array of films and panels, plus food and music events. The full festival program and ticket sales will go live mid-April.

CAAMFest screenings, receptions, and events will be held in San Francisco and Oakland, at venues including those neighborhoods rich with Asian American history. This year, Opening Night will be held for the first time at the Palace of Fine Arts, followed by the annual Gala at the Asian Art Museum. “CAAMFest continues to be an enduring annual event where Asian American stories of all kinds can be celebrated,” says CAAM Executive Director Stephen Gong. “Our films, concerts, dinners, and other events bring together audiences from many backgrounds to enjoy storytelling that is both specific to the experiences of our community and also universal in our shared humanity.”

“Our stories—whether on the screen, on stage, or told around a table—have the power to transform the world,” says Festival and Exhibitions Director Thúy Trần. “Honoring our cultural legacies, sharing our stories, and creating new pathways is what we're here to do. CAAMFest is that space we can rely on to feel seen, heard, and held in community.”
