Ayumi Fujino (voiced by Yuumi Kawai) is in elementary school and has a great talent for drawing manga. Her 4 panel manga is featured in the school's paper and everyone enjoys it. She finds herself challenged by a truant shut in, Kyomoto (voiced by Mizuki Yoshida), who starts to have her own 4 panel manga featured in the paper. Kyomoto shows technical skill far above Fujino, but Fujino isn't going to back down. Over the course of their lives the two go from butting heads, to teaming up, to going their separate ways, until Fujino, later in life as a noted manga artist, hears shocking news about Kyomoto.
Look Back is based on Tatsuki FUJIMOTO's popular one shot manga, which was published in 2021. Written and directed by Kiyotaka OSHIYAMA (The First Slam Dunk, Chainsaw Man) at Studio Durian, the movie will premiere in Japan on June 28, 2024.
