Singaporean Series Sweep Inaugural ContentAsia Awards

HBO Asia's “Food Lore” and “” – both directed by Singaporean directors, and , respectively – won three awards collectively at this year's .This year's ContentAsia Awards, though held in Singapore on 28 August, was exclusively streamed online on their Facebook page.

Eric Khoo‘s “” – an eight-episode omnibus exploring different local cuisines throughout Southeast and East Asia – walked home with the “Best Asian Drama for a Regional / International Market” category. Erik Matti, director of Philippines-themed episode “Island of Dreams,” took home the Best Director of a Scripted TV Programme Award.

Ler Jiyuan's “Invisible Stories” – a mini-series of six, half-hour episodes – won the Best Drama Series/Telefilm Made for a Local Asian Market award. The drama tells of stories untold of everyday life and its hardships in Singapore.

Of the other awardees, CNN International walked away with two for their “Inventing Tomorrow: Tech in a time of Pandemic” for the Best COVID-19 Factual Feature and “Borneo is Burning” for Best Current Affairs Programme. Cartoon Network scored the Best Animated Kids TV Programme with “Monster Beach” – It Cone From Outer Space.
