JFF Plus: Online Festival is coming to 20 countries across 5 continents! – November 27

The JFF Plus: Online Festival proudly presented by the Japan Foundation for Japanese movie buffs in 20 countries around the world has finally started! On November 20, the Festival opened in Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

The (JFF) was first held in 2016 at movie theaters around the world. In 2019-20, JFFs were held in 56 cities in 12 countries, bringing Japanese movies to more than 170,000 viewers. In 2020, with the world hit by COVID-19, the JFF will take the form of online Japanese Film Festivals for the very first time. For free, you can stream 30 amazing Japanese films ranging all the way from the latest hits and films that were a big hit in past festivals to anime and the classic.

Conversation With Director”, inviting five directors of movies being streamed to talk about their films, will be streamed on YouTube Other related events will also be held in different countries. Some will have in-person film festivals at theaters in addition to the online festival. Check the streaming page and your local Japan Foundation social media for the latest news.

Ever since I watched Takeshi Kitano's "Hana-Bi" for the first time (and many times after that) I have been a cinephile.
