Film streaming service MUBI has announced that Imran Sheik's Malay-language political thriller DAULAT (2020) will be coming to the platform exclusively starting February 5 2021.

Written and directed by Sheik, “Daulat”is his debut feature and showcases the dark world of politics, telling the story of politician, Suri (Vanidah Imran), and her party plotting a fiesty political comeback after having just lost the election.
“Daulat” features a brilliant cast including Vanidah Imran (The Red Kebaya, Perempuan Melayu Terakhir), Tony Eusoff (Sepi, The Hush, Shadowplay), Cristina Suzanne (Jwanita, Kil, Rempit Sampai Langit), Jasmine Suraya (Paskal: The Movie, All Because of You), Zul Zamir and Rashidi Ishak (Setem, Songlap).
After losing the general election, the president of MUNA, Hasan (Tony Eusoff) employs Suri (Vanidah Imran) as his deputy. Suri is known as a ruthless politician that will do anything to achieve her goals, and the goal this time is to win the next general election. Suri uses her husband Idrus (Rashidi Ishak), the CEO of Media Raya, a news company, to spread propaganda and fake news to benefit Suri's party. As Suri and Idrus plan to win the upcoming general election, the couple will face threats from others who are equally hungry for power. But in the end there will be only one side who will ascend to the throne.
