9. Vinci Da (Srijit Mukherji, India)
Srijit Mukherji is a master story-teller and came up with couple of brilliant crime thrillers before including “Baishe Srabon” and “Chotushkone.” He was poetic in “Baishe Srabon” but in “Vinci Da” he plays with the minds of an artist and a criminal with a touch of killer instinct and ends up with a brilliant thriller. The best part of the movie lies in the last scene where the director makes a mask the real face of one of the protagonists whereas the creativity behind the mask is always used to cover up the real face of the person in the movie. “Vinci Da” is a brilliant psychological thriller from Srijit Mukherji and team and is a must watch. 8. Mimicry Freaks (Shugo Fujii, Japan)
Some social comments about child abuse, eugenics and nuclear power do exist, but are actually drowned in the horror/splatter aesthetics. “Mimicry Freaks” is a very interesting amalgam of many different elements, and a unique entry in the genre that definitely deserves a look from all fans of the extreme. 7. The Divine Fury (Kim Joo-hwan, South Korea)
While it stumbles somewhat slightly at times, the film's strong storyline and enjoyable action provide the basis for a lot of enjoyable aspects to be found. This one is highly worthwhile to any fan of heavy religious supernatural genre films or Asian horror as well as those curious about how they would tackle that kind of subject matter, the change-of-pace is quite appealing. 6. DreadOut (Kimo Stamboel, Indonesia)
Featuring a lot of really enjoyable and chilling aspects that are undone slightly by a general lack of comprehension as to what's going on, this is another fun and frenetic Indonesian genre effort. Give this one a chance if you're a fan of these supernatural genre efforts or a follower of the creative team, the wild energy on display is infectious. (Panos Kotzathanasis)
5. Sunyi (Awi Suryadi, Indonesia)
With a lot of great technical qualities in the most important sections with the ghost hauntings and plenty to say about bullying, “Sunyi” manages to get a lot to like while still feeling somewhat cliched and unoriginal. Fans of the original, Asian horror in general or viewers looking for quality work in these areas should give this a shot, this one has plenty to like and enjoy about it. (Don Anelli)
4. Nirvana Inn (Vijay Jayapal, India)
Masterfully crafted ‘slow-burn' horror from director Vijay Jayapal, “Nirvana Inn” creates a persistent unsettling atmosphere. The decline of the Jogi, masterfully conveyed through Actor Adil Hussain, is unsettling due to various otherworldly encounters with ghosts of the past. The film also boasts some exceptional visuals, and a solid score. “Nirvana Inn” is one of the best horror films of the year, rivalling critically acclaimed horror films from the west. It is a film that will hopefully see wider distribution and appreciation in 2020. (Adam John Symchuk)
3. Sadako (Hideo Nakata, Japan)
While there are some minor flaws here with some muddled explanations to things that aren't necessary and some troubled CGI, the rest of the film features enough great connections to the past entries in the franchise that it fits nicely into the series. Give this a chance if you're curious about it or a fan of the series or the creative aspects, it proves the franchise still has enough life to carry on in the modern era. (Don Anelli)
2. Krasue: Inhuman Kiss (Sitisiri Mongkolsiri, Thailand)
As there are some highly impressive and genuinely touching aspects here, “Krasue” has plenty to like for just about everyone. This is not only highly recommended for Asian horror genre fans, the curious ones looking for a new creature feature and the general film lovers who aren't into this type of film. (Don Anelli)

Without too many real flaws and some absolutely stellar positives throughout, ‘The Wrath' manages to feature plenty of stellar elements that make for a truly enjoyable and engaging effort. Give this one a watch if you're a fan of these supernatural efforts or a fan of Asian style ghost films in general, it has a great mix of technical prowess with genre scares which makes this the perfect choice to top off our list.
