Trailer: Blue Lock by Tetsuaki Watanabe

The story starts with Japan's exclusion from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, prompting the Japanese Football Union to launch a program evaluating high school players for the 2022 Cup. Isagi Youichi, a forward, is invited to this program shortly after his team is denied entry to Nationals because he passed to a less-skilled teammate, who missed, instead of attempting to score the game-winning goal himself.

After the discussion of the current condition of Japanese soccer, the Japanese Football Association decides to hire the enigmatic and eccentric coach Ego Jinpachi to achieve their dream of winning the World Cup. So now, Ego Jinpachi will be their coach, and he plans to “destroy Japanese loser football” by instituting a new innovative training routine that involves isolating 300 young forwards in a prison-like facility known as “” and putting them to extensive training designed to create “the world's greatest egotist striker.”
