“The Outlaws” can, without certainty, be considered the film that established Ma Dong-seok as a bankable leading man, doing considerable business at the box office and basically laying the blueprint for the kind of roles that the hardman is now best known for. So it was only a matter of time before a sequel was announced and queue to today, we finally have the first glimpse of what the sequel will look like in the form of a new poster and first trailer.
Plot synopsis is still under wraps, but the sequel sees Don Lee's character Ma Seok-do face a new foe in the form of in-demand actor Son Sukku's Kang Hae-sang, which will be a first silver screen negative role for the young actor. Directing duties have been transferred over from Kang Yoon-sung to Lee Sang-yong. The film is scheduled for an early 2022 release in Korea, with a wider international release definitely anticipated.
