A ‘barrier-free' screening of Shin-cihi Ise's latest work “Now is the Past – My Father, Java, & the Phantom Films” is scheduled in Hibiya, Tokyo on the coming Saturday at 11am. The film is English-subtitled and the Q&A session following the screening is bilingual.
The film ‘Now is the Past' is focussing on propaganda films created during the WWII in Indonesia by Japanese filmmakers. Chonosuke Ise, the father of Director Ise, was a film editor and one of the members. The son started his journey to follow his father's path more than 30 years ago. The film was an official selection of IDFA 2021.
