An Audiobook Edition of the Beloved Award-Winning
Science Fiction Light Novel Series

, LLC announced a new addition to the Yen Audio lineup—an audiobook edition of 86—EIGHTY-SIX, the science fiction light novel series written by Asato Asato. The critically-acclaimed series won the Grand Prize at the 23rd Dengeki Novel Prize awards in 2016 and has been published by Yen On since March 2019. An anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures began airing in April 2021, which has led 86—EIGHTY-SIX to become one of today's most popular properties in the world of both anime and light novels. The 86—EIGHTY-SIX audiobook gives fans a new and engaging way to experience this epic tale of warfare and strife.

The Republic of San Magnolia has long been under attack from the neighboring Giadian Empire's army of unmanned drones known as the Legion. After years of painstaking research, the Republic finally developed autonomous drones of their own, turning the one-sided struggle into a war without casualties—or at least, that's what the government claims.

In truth, there is no such thing as a bloodless war. Beyond the fortified walls protecting the eighty-five Republic territories lies the “nonexistent” Eighty-Sixth Sector. The young men and women of this forsaken land are branded the Eighty-Six and, stripped of their humanity, pilot the “unmanned” weapons into battle…

The 86—EIGHTY-SIX audiobook is scheduled for a July 2022 debut. The narrator of the Yen Audio production will be announced at a later date.
