Midnight Sun the Musical Returns to MetaTheater!

, a platform that globally distributes live theater performances, will be presenting the live streaming of coming-of-age romantic drama, musical Midnight Sun with a K-pop star-studded cast starting May 3rd.

Midnight Sun had its first run introduced in May of 2021 when the industry of performing arts came to close down all around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Midnight Sun is a coming-of-age romantic drama that tells the growth, friendship, and love story of Haram, a young boy who is blinding like a summer day's ray of light, and Haena, a girl who shines like a midsummer night's moonlight. The big cast including SHINee's , DAY6's WONPIL, NU'EST's BAEKHO, GOT7's YONGJAE, Lovelyz's Kei, as well as musical actors CHO HUN, KANG HYEIN, and LEE AJIN received a lot of attention, leading to the musical's success by attracting 80,000 global audiences online and offline, from 114 countries and regions around the world.

This year's cast who will surpass the success of the first run includes K-pop artists ONEW (SHINee), Kim Namjoo (Apink), , (PENTAGON), Y (Golden Child), and , musical actress , and actor . Midnight Sun has returned with the best combination of cast who are equipped with talent, charms, and popularity.

Firstly in the role of shy boy Haram who likes to surf with his friends, SHINee's ONEW who is a leading K-pop artist and one of the stars who led the first run of Midnight Sun to its success in 2021 will return to the audience. Singer HA SUNG WOON who performs not only as a member of a group but as a solo artist as well will try his very first musical, while JINHO, who proved his potential as a musical actor in All Shook Up and The Man in the Iron Mask also joined. Actor SONG Geonhee who has been building his acting skills through the drama series SKY Castle and the play R&J will also play the innocent and cheerful Haram, as well as Golden Child's Y, who played the mischievous Luke in SHINSWAVE-produced Altar Boyz (2021).

For the role of Haena who has a strong heart and loves to sing with her guitar, three new faces join. They are Kim Namjoo, a member of Apink who has been attracting attention with her unique energetic charms on various variety shows and web dramas, actress LEE Sang-A, who was cast in popular staged performances like musicals Bernarda Alba and 1976 Harlan County, and play Dressing Room, as well as KWON EUNBI, who has been growing to her success on the K-pop stage with the series of solo songs she released. Midnight Sun will be the debut musical for both Kim Namjoo and KWON EUNBI, and it is said that all three performers are focusing on practicing the guitar in order to act the role of Haena who is a singer-songwriter.

Meanwhile, MetaTheater, a global platform specializing in staged performances, unveiled the date of the 1st ticketing window before Midnight Sun the musical raises its curtains on May 3rd. Tickets for the livestreaming can be purchased starting from April 5th at 4pm (KST) until one hour before the performance, and it can be purchased on MetaTheater's website. In addition to single tickets, discounted ticket packages for 5 viewings and 10 viewings will also be available for purchase.
