According to tradition, CAMERA JAPAN Festival is returning in September for its 17th edition. Fans of Japanese cinema and culture can enjoy the newest and best Japanese films from September 22 – 25 in Rotterdam based theatre LantarenVenster, after which the festival moves to Amsterdam where LAB111 will host CAMERA JAPAN Festival from September 29 – October 2.

With over 40 films, CAMERA JAPAN Festival will be packed with the newest and best Japanese films. Most of these will be screened in the Netherlands for the very first time. The festival is also thrilled to have several European and international premieres, which they will announce soon. The festival is very happy to finally be able to invite filmmakers and other special guests from Japan to the festival again, after two years of limitations.

Organisation
CAMERA JAPAN is organised on a voluntary basis by a core group of enthusiastic employees and around 40 volunteers during the festival. Outside the festival CAMERA JAPAN organises screenings on location and with an On Tour programme in theatres nationwide.
CAMERA JAPAN has been made possible through contributions by Rotterdam Festivals, Nederlands Filmfonds, Isaac Alfred Ailion Foundation, Japan Foundation, Stichting Bevordering van Volkskracht and FedEx.
