6th Malaysia International Film Festival Continues Partnership with Udine Far East Film Festival

The 6th (MIFFest) press conference was successfully held. The press conference announced a series of activities for this year's festival, including the reveal of this year's theme [New Take], Kim Dong-ho to chair MIFFest, the first collaboration with the BMW Shorties, TikTok Malaysia as the official partner of MIFFest, the renewed collaboration with the (FEFF), Malaysia's renowned actor Mr. Bront Palarae as the festival's ambassador for the fourth time, and more.

Kim Dong-ho to continue his timeless contribution for the industry by chairing Malaysia International Film Festival

Kim Dong-ho has confirmed to chair MIFFest for another year. The president and founder of MIFFest, Joanne Goh: “A man who revolutionized Korean Cinema, he has gained multiple international accolades for his achievements to both the film business and the cultural growth of the Republic of Korea because of his amazing dynamism, his trust in film and his charisma.
In the film industry, Kim Dong Ho's achievements are truly peerless and remarkable.”

The BMW Shorties officially partners MIFFest for its Short Films Programming

MIFFest also announced a new partnership with the BMW Shorties, a creative initiative by BMW Group Malaysia to discover and support emerging local talents in film and digital content in Malaysia. As the most recognizable short film competition in Malaysia.

The Grand Prize Winner of the short film and digital content competition will receive RM80,000 in production grant, and filmmaking talents will also be recognized across a range of supporting awards. Continued collaboration with Udine Far East Film Festival (FEFF) in Italy

MIFFest and the festival's partner Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, have continued to deliver good news this year, with special screenings of Malaysian films and exchanges between filmmakers. Both festivals hope to continue to bring new sparks through the concept of “From East To West”. In addition, MIFFest will continue to support local films, so that more people from all over the world can see the beauty and significance of Malaysian cinema together.

The festival director of FEFF, Sabrina Baracetti: “The first year of collaboration with MIFFest was a success and Udine Far East Film Festival had the chance to visit Malaysia. Through MIFFest, we learned more about the country as well as its culture and the movie industry. For the second year, our aim is to create a bridge between Malaysia and Europe by exchanging our cultures, which are the tools that will help us better understand the world.”
