Trailer: Hostage: Missing Celebrity by Pil Kam-sung

Remakes are tricky business, specially when you're remaking a popular film like Saving Mr. Wu which starred a superstar like Andy Lau. However, as first time director would tell you, your task becomes easier when you have a superstar of 's stature at your disposal.

Synopsis

After a VIP movie premiere, Korean top movie star Hwang Jung-min gets kidnapped by strangers. Jung-min first thinks that someone is playing pranks, but the kidnappers' cruelty helps Jung-min realise that the abduction is no joke. Jung-min tries to find his way out, while the kidnappers demand him a huge amount of ransom within 24 hours. Jung-min encounters a real brutality that is way different and more extreme than the ones he has seen in the movies.

So yes, Hwang Jung-min plays himself in this feature and yes, Hwang Jung-min plays Hwang Jung-min getting kidnapped. Expect a thrill ride when “” comes to a theatre near you in August, 2021.
