The 32nd edition of the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) concluded its proceedings this year with the winner announcements for the Silver Screen Awards, including the Audience Choice Award. Introduced in 1991, the Silver Screen Awards is the first international competition with a category dedicated to Asian cinema. It spotlights filmmaking talents from across Asia, with a focus on Southeast Asia. Many of its awardees and nominees have since established themselves among the region's most prominent filmmakers.
This year's award winners for both the Asian Feature Film Competition and the Southeast Asian Short Film Competition were selected by jury members, including internationally renowned Taiwanese/Chinese filmmaker and producer Peggy Chiao (Like a Dream, Buddha Mountain), Filipina actress Angeli BAYANI (Ilo Ilo), film editor Nose CHAN (Suk Suk) and Singaporean filmmaker YEO Siew Hua (A Land Imagined).
