Trailer: Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021 by Susumu Yamaguchi

One day during summer vacation, Nobita picks up a small rocket from which Papi appears. He is a palm-sized alien and the president of Pirika, a small planet in outer space, who has landed on Earth to the rebels. At first, Doraemon and his friends are puzzled by Papi's small size, but as they play together using the secret gadget “Small Light”, they gradually become friends. However, a whale-shaped space battleship soon arrives on Earth and attacks Doraemon, Nobita and the others in order to capture Papi. Feeling responsible for involving everyone, Papi tries to stand up to the rebels. Doraemon and his friends leave for the planet Pirika to protect their dear friend and his home.

This remake of the 1985 anime film Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars is the 41st instalment in the popular Doraemon franchise. It is directed by , who was the director for Mobile Suit Gundam AGE and has also worked on previous Doraemon films as a key animator and unit director. The script is penned by Dai SATO with animation production by Shin-Ei Animation and Shirogumi.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic delaying the release back in March 2021, Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021 will now open in Japan on March 4, 2022.
