Wu Renyao (Liu Haoran) performs motorcycle stunt shows while hustling for customers at the docks. He is friends with Zhou Huansong (Liu Haocun), a restaurant waitress who dreams of big city life, and her pompous yet sincere older brother, Zhou Huange. Ah Yao has also recently reunited with his gadabout father Wu Renteng (Shen Teng), whom he has not seen for many years.

Written and directed by Han Han, this is the most highly anticipated new release among the Chinese New Year line-up of films premiering in China on February 1, 2022. It also marks the third Chinese New Year release for Han Han, following Duckweed in 2017 and Pegasus in 2019. Liu Haoran starred in Detective Chinatown 3, Shen Teng in Hi, Mom and Liu Haocun in One Second – all 2021 releases. Only Fools Rush In will feature special appearances by Feng Shaofeng and Huang Xiaoming.
