Wei Chenggong (Wei Xiang) is a wannabe actor who has a lifelong dream of landing a leading role. He gets his big break when female star Milan (Ma Li) shows her “appreciation” and invites him to be in her movie as the male lead, “Killer Carl”. Wei is excited to perform the role, but did not expect to be caught up in a dangerous conspiracy. Now he has to rely on his “superb” acting skills and good fortune to avert disaster, yet he finds himself edging closer and closer to the brutal truth.
This action comedy is written and directed by Xing Wenxiong, who was one of the screenwriters for My People, My Homeland. The cast includes Chen Minghao, Zhou Dayong, Huang Cailun and Ai Lun.
Too Cool To Kill is also part of the Chinese New Year line-up of films premiering on February 1, 2022 in China.
