FEFF 25 Reveals First Title of 2023 Lineup: The Sales Girl (2021) by Janchivdorj Sengedorj

An irresistible Mongolian comedy, set among the shelves of a sex shop!

It all starts with a banana peel and a slip. It is certainly the oldest comic device in the world, but here it serves as the trigger for a modern and nonconformist story: we are talking about “The Sales Girl“, the irresistible Mongolian comedy signed by director Sengedorj Janchivdorj and on which the Far East Film Festival 25 – very first preview of the line-up! – decided to bet.

Twelve years after the black comedy “Operation Tatar” by Baatar Bat-Ulzii, the first Mongolian film in the history of the Far East Film Festival, Mongolia returns to Udine and does so in grand style. Now, to applaud the Italian preview of The Sales Girl, you just need to have a few months of patience: the international spotlights will turn on 25 from 21 to 29 April. Nine days of films, super guests, exhibitions and talks between the historic headquarters of the Teatro Nuovo and the spaces of the Visionario (without obviously forgetting the rich network of events that will color the city center with Asia).

We remind you that the 2023 Accreditation Campaign is already active online with the Red Panda, the White Tiger and the Black Dragon (all info on the official website). Three packages that the “Fareastians” know very well and which, until 6 March, can be purchased at a special price.

About the author

Adriana Rosati

On paper I am an Italian living in London, in reality I was born and bread in a popcorn bucket. I've loved cinema since I was a little child and I’ve always had a passion and interest for Asian (especially Japanese) pop culture, food and traditions, but on the cinema side, my big, first love is Hong Kong Cinema. Then - by a sort of osmosis - I have expanded my love and appreciation to the cinematography of other Asian countries. I like action, heroic bloodshed, wu-xia, Shaw Bros (even if it’s not my specialty), Anime, and also more auteur-ish movies. Anything that is good, really, but I am allergic to rom-com (unless it’s a HK rom-com, possibly featuring Andy Lau in his 20s)"
