A Big Success for our Submit Your Film Initiative

Two films from our Submit Your Film initiative found their way to the program of Vienna Shorts

The main purpose of the SYF initiative is to allow movies that very rarely anyone watches, much reviews, to find at least a certain amount of exposure, through our articles. Our efforts have resulted in more than 260 articles since April 2019, plus a number of trailers and full movies on our YouTube channel, a number of which eventually found distribution, mostly in various streaming services.

Furthermore, our cooperation with Vienna Shorts has given an opportunity to submit a number of them to the Oscar-qualifying festival, with a significant price-off. This year, we are very glad to announce that, from the ten we submitted, two were picked for screening in the 2021 edition, something we consider a big success.

The two films are “Fallen Fruit” by Cambodian , and “” by Singaporeans and . The former will screen as part of Bests of the Fests and the latter as part of the Late Night Section, at 29.05.2021, at 22.30.

Panos Kotzathanasis

My name is Panos Kotzathanasis and I am Greek. Being a fan of Asian cinema and especially of Chinese kung fu and Japanese samurai movies since I was a little kid, I cultivated that love during my adolescence, to extend to the whole of SE Asia.

Starting from my own blog in Greek, I then moved on to write for some of the major publications in Greece, and in a number of websites dealing with (Asian) cinema, such as Taste of Cinema, Hancinema, EasternKicks, Chinese Policy Institute, and of course, Asian Movie Pulse. in which I still continue to contribute.

In the beginning of 2017, I launched my own website, Asian Film Vault, which I merged in 2018 with Asian Movie Pulse, creating the most complete website about the Asian movie industry, as it deals with almost every country from East and South Asia, and definitely all genres.
